What is Haunted Wiki?
Haunted Wiki is a running record of the world’s haunted places — houses, hospitals, hotels, prisons, ships, and towns with a reputation for the paranormal. Each entry lays out the location’s history, the alleged activity reported there, and how the story has been told and retold over time.
Why does another haunted-places site need to exist?
Because most “top 10 haunted houses” content online is copy-pasted from the same three sources. We’d rather go back to the original newspaper reports, local histories, and firsthand accounts where we can find them, and be upfront about what’s documented versus what’s grown in the retelling.
Do you believe the places you write about are actually haunted?
We’re not in the business of confirming or debunking. We’re interested in why a place earns a haunted reputation — what happened there, who started telling the story, and how it spread — and we let readers draw their own conclusions.
Who writes Haunted Wiki?
The Haunted Wiki team has backgrounds in journalism, folklore research, and paranormal history. We fact-check locations, dates, and historical details as carefully as we can, while treating firsthand ghost stories as what they are: testimony, not proof.
